Another day, another bunch of dollars knocked off my share portfolio value thanks to the intellectually challenged folks across the pond who voted Trump in as president. Are you Republican supporters tired of all the winning yet?!
I find it sad the financial plight of so many non-Americans is impacted by millions of dipshits who cannot, or will not, see their emperor is not wearing new clothes… There you go Trump supporters; with that horrific vision of your cult leader in the buff, I offer my minor piece of retribution.
That being said, his acolytes will probably love to see their king naked. Driven by an intrigue to witness if he’s orange all over, and/or if Stormy Daniels is correct when stating his cock is shaped like a mushroom.
Anyhow, I don’t wish to dwell on negative topics in today’s piece so will move onto creating more upbeat literary fare. Paragraphs which will not trigger anger, frustration, and my new habit of coughing up of furballs… Maybe I should stop binge snacking on candy floss!
Time spent blogging has been at a premium of late. A week in Tenerife, some work on an alternative literary project and the gardening seasons return currently taking up large swathes of my time.
Not that I am complaining, apart from temperatures lowered by prevailing winds, the Tenerife break was enjoyable. The alternative literary project, where I’m a co-writing with a friend, has (I believe) the potential to evolve into an accomplished piece of work.
This projet litteraire, aimed at Year 6 kids onwards, tells of a teenage Spanish boy called Nico and his buddy The General, a donkey. Their story one of friendship, determination, following a dream and not overpaying for cheese graters.
As well as Nico and The General, in this early draft, the cast of characters includes:-
Rosetta (Nico’s mum) – A keen horsewoman who formerly performed equestrian tricks at the Gran Circo (circus) in the Andalucian area of southern Spain. She met Nico’s father Serge during rehearsals; he a stilt walker in the same performance company.
Their initial meeting a dramatic scene in rehearsal where he tumbled after one of his stilts broke, knocking Rosetta from her steed. Thankfully both were unhurt in the incident; she later claiming their meeting was fate. However, Serge (her future husband) begs to differ, positing their inaugural meet was a consequence of his lax stilt maintenance.
Despite Rosetta’s luck at avoiding injury during the incident. She was less fortunate when suffering a horrific fall from her horse during a performance in Seville. Balancing on its saddle while the equine circumvented the circus ring, she slipped and sustained a severe head injury which has left her in a coma for the past year.
Serge (Nico’s dad) – A hard working man who purchased a small fruit farm after leaving the circus following Rosetta’s horrific injury. The ex-stilt walker now using his old walking props as gateposts at a gate allowing access to his modest orange grove.
Serge was always a firm/strict father; however, the bitterness borne since his spouse’s accident have mean parental scolding’s for poor Nico have lately upped in frequency and ferocity. Following Rosetta’s equine tumble, he is adamant Nico does not jeopardise his own health by riding horses, an edict which upsets the horse-loving boy.
Grand Master of the Spanish Horse School (Davide Persie) – A straight talking man who displays initial hostility towards Nico’s ambition at becoming a groom/rider at the Spanish Horse School. However, after witnessing the young boy’s impressive horsemanship audition, he shows a soft underbelly, subsequently going on to encourage the boy.
Pascale (Groom) – His initial support of the young boy turns too into jealousy when the 14-year-old usurps him for a prestigious riding role at the school. The groom is also envious of The General because, unlike the mule, he cannot whistle the Bulgarian national anthem.
Toscan (A Stallion) – An accomplished but temperamental equine. His adherence to good behavioural traits is required to enable Nico to fully achieve his dream.
